Review Policy

Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts submitted to IC3M will be screened for plagiarism using Turnitin software to ensure the originality of the content. The maximum allowable similarity index is 20%. If a manuscript exceeds this threshold but the overlap is considered minor by the Editorial Board, authors will be asked to revise and resubmit the manuscript to address the issues. Manuscripts with a significantly higher similarity index or containing substantial plagiarism—such as verbatim copying without citation or unacknowledged use of AI-generated content—will be rejected without further review. Authors must ensure that their submissions uphold academic integrity, including proper citation of all sources and original authorship.

Peer Review Policy

IC3M follows a rigorous double-blind peer review process to maintain the quality, objectivity, and academic value of its proceedings. The process includes:

  1. Initial Evaluation: Upon submission, each manuscript is reviewed by a member of the Scientific Committee to assess basic suitability. Submissions may be rejected at this stage due to poor language quality, lack of originality, academic misconduct, or misalignment with the conference scope.
  2. Reviewer Assignment: Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two expert reviewers from the Scientific Committee. Reviewer selection is based on subject matter expertise, and the double-blind process ensures anonymity of both authors and reviewers to maintain impartiality.
  3. Review Criteria: Manuscripts are evaluated based on:
    • Originality and novelty
    • Soundness of research methodology
    • Accuracy and relevance of results and discussion
    • Compliance with ethical research practices
    • Significance to the field of mechanical engineering and materials
    • Quality of writing and presentation

Reviewers provide constructive feedback to help authors improve the quality of their manuscripts.

  1. Editorial Decision: Based on the reviewers’ assessments, the Editorial Board makes one of the following decisions:
    • Accept without Revisions
    • Accept with Minor Revisions
    • Accept after Major Revisions
    • Reject

Authors are informed of the decision via email and provided with reviewer comments for guidance on necessary revisions.

IC3M is committed to a fair, transparent, and academically rigorous peer review process, ensuring that all accepted work meets high standards of scholarly integrity.
